Olympus strikes back with its new camera, the Olympus Stylus 1010 which is a special camera and entering with force a very competitive market! It was presented on the North American market on the 22/1/08. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 2560 x 1920, 2304 x 1728, 2048 x 1536, 1920 x 1080, 1600 x 1200, 1280 x 960, 640 x 480. The sensor of the Stylus 1010 is a CCD having for dimensions 1/2.33 " with a RGB color filter. Olympus included a digital zoom on the Stylus 1010 with an internal flash which is always essential in a camera . The normal focus range between the camera lens and the main subject is 70 cm.
The min. shutter speed of the Stylus 1010 is 1/2 seconds while the maximum shutter speed is 1/2000 seconds. Movies are supported on this camera which is always a useful function. The Olympus Stylus 1010 has an internal storage space of 14.7 mb and can be extended with external storage by using xD Picture Card + Internal. The LCD implemented in the Stylus 1010 is measuring 2.7 ". A video out plug exists letting you see your pictures on television. USB connectivity to a computer is supported.
