Olympus D-540 Zoom review
Olympus presents its new camera, the Olympus D-540 Zoom which is a great camera and supposed to set new standards in the market! It was unveiled on the North American market on the 12/2/04. The Olympus D-540 Zoom will be sold at a retail price of 199in North America, a great price for such a camera. This nice little piece of technology measures 100 x 62 x 38 mm and has for weight 200 g. The D-540 Zoom gets a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 1600 x 1200, 640 x 480. The image ratio on the Olympus D-540 Zoom has been set at 4:3, making a total of 3.1 mega pixels.
The sensor of the D-540 Zoom is a CCD of dimensions 1/2.7 " with a RGB color filter. Olympus included a digital zoom on the D-540 Zoom and also added an internal flash which is always essential in a camera . The normal focus range between the camera and the object is 50 cm. The minimum shutter speed (min. exposition to light) on the D-540 Zoom was set at 1 seconds while the maximum shutter speed is 1/2000 seconds. The movie mode is supported on this camera being a very useful function. The Olympus D-540 Zoom has an internal storage space of 16 mb and can be extended with external storage by using xD Picture Card.
