Nikon Coolpix P2 review
Nikon impresses with its new model, the Nikon Coolpix P2 which is a very exciting camera and supposed to set new standards in the market! It was presented in the US on the 01/9/05. The Nikon Coolpix P2 was initially targeted at a retail price of 286in North America, considered affordable for such a camera. This nice camera measures 91 x 60 x 39 mm while weights 185 g. The Coolpix P2 gets a maximum resolution of 2592 x 1944. You can also set it at a lower resolution of 2048 x 1536, 1024 x 768, 640 x 480. The image ratio (w/h) on the Nikon Coolpix P2 has been set at 4:3, for a total of 5.0 mega pixels.
The lens's sensor of the Coolpix P2 is a CCD having for dimensions 1/1.8 " using a RGB color filter. Nikon added a digital zoom on its Coolpix P2 and also added an internal flash being very common in new cameras . The normal focus range between the camera lens and the object is 50 cm. The minimum shutter speed on the Coolpix P2 is 8 seconds and the maximum shutter speed is 1/2000 seconds. Movies are supported on this camera which is always a useful function. The Nikon Coolpix P2 has an internal memory of 16 mb and can be extended with external storage by using SD/MMC card + Internal.
The LCD implemented in the Coolpix P2 measures 2.5 ". A USB connection is furnished to connect to a computer. To conclude, we think the Nikon Coolpix P2 makes a fantastic camera and we encourage anyone interested in a great camera to consider this great camera.
