Leica Digilux 1 review
Leica is back with its new model, the Leica Digilux 1 which is a very exciting camera and setting new standards in the camera industry! It was unveiled in North America on the 24/2/02. The Leica Digilux 1 was initially targeted at a retail price of 900in North America, no bad for all this technology. This nice camera measures 127 x 83 x 67 mm and weights 455 g. The Digilux 1 offers a maximum resolution of 2240 x 1680. You can also set it at a lower resolution of 1600 x 1200, 1120 x 840, 640 x 480. The ratio of the image (w/h) on the Leica Digilux 1 has been set at 4:3, for a total of 3.9 mega pixels.
The internal sensor on the Digilux 1 is a CCD which measures only 1/1.76 " having a RGB color filter. Leica included a digital zoom on the Digilux 1 and included an internal flash being a standard in nowadays cameras . The normal focus range between the camera and the object is 30 cm. The minimum shutter speed on the Digilux 1 was set at 8 seconds while the maximum shutter speed is 1/1000 seconds. The movie mode is supported on this camera being a very useful function. The Leica Digilux 1 has an internal memory of 32 mb extendable with SD/MMC card.
The LCD implemented in the Digilux 1 measures 2.5 ". There is also a video out output available making it handy to watch pictures on your television. USB connectivity to a computer is supported.
