The lens's sensor of the PowerShot S5 IS is a CCD which measures 1/2.5 " with a RGB color filter. Canon included a digital zoom on the PowerShot S5 IS with an internal flash which is always essential in a camera . The normal focus range between the camera and the object is 50 cm.
The min. shutter speed of the PowerShot S5 IS was set at 15 seconds and the maximum shutter is 1/3200 seconds. Movie clips are also supported in this version being a very useful function. The Canon PowerShot S5 IS includes an internal memory of 32 mb and can be extended with external storage by using SD/SDHC/MMC card. The LCD screen available on the PowerShot S5 IS measures 2.5 ". A video output is available letting you see your pictures on television. Connection to a computer is available through USB.
