Canon arrives this year with its new camera, the Canon PowerShot A80 which is a great camera and setting new standards in the market! It was presented in the US on the 20/8/03. The Canon PowerShot A80 is sold at a price of 174in North America, a great deal. The PowerShot A80 offers a maximum resolution of 2272 x 1704. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 1600 x 1200, 1024 x 768, 640 x 480. The image ratio (w/h) on the Canon PowerShot A80 has been set at 4:3, making a camera of 3.9 mega pixels. The sensor on the PowerShot A80 is a CCD which measures 1/1.8 " using a RGB color filter.
Canon implemented a digital zoom on the PowerShot A80 and also added an internal flash being very common in new cameras . The normal focus range between the camera lens and the object is 46 cm. The min. shutter speed of the PowerShot A80 is 15 seconds while the maximum shutter speed is 1/2000 seconds. Movie clips are also supported on this camera being a very useful function. The Canon PowerShot A80 has an internal storage space of 32 mb and can be extended with Compact Flash (Type I). The LCD screen of the PowerShot A80 measures 1.5 ".
